How to make Butter Chicken

Butter chicken is a popular Indian dish that is enjoyed by many people around the world. Here’s a recipe for making butter chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken breast, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, for garnishing

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken cubes with the yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala powder. Mix well and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat the butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent.
  3. Add the marinated chicken and sauté for 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is partially cooked.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes and tomato paste. Stir well and cook for 5-7 minutes or until the tomatoes are fully cooked and the mixture thickens.
  5. Add the heavy cream and stir well. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Add salt to taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan bread or steamed rice.
